Spicy Chicken Spaghetti and Homemade Garlic Bread

My partner is a pasta addict so when I looked in my fridge and saw nothing but some garlic, some pasta sauce, and a loaf of unbaked bread dough in the freezer I knew what had to be done. This is an extremely easy and very filling meal for up to three hungry college students.

The Bread:
1 loaf pre-made frozen bread dough (can be bought in the freezer section)
olive oil
1/2 Tbsp. minced garlic
1/2 Tbsp. dried basil

The Pasta:
4 chicken legs (skin removedwith meat cut into 1 inch chunks)
1 jar marinara
2 handfuls of spaghetti noodles
2 cups frozen diced spinach
2 Tbsp. dried basil
2 Tsp. cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp. chili powder
to taste:
diced garlic
salt
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Bread:
  • coat pre-risen and thawed dough lightly in olive oil
  • spread and press in garlic onto the surface
  • mold dough into a 8 inch pie pan
  • sprinkle with basil
  • bake until golden brown on the top
  • remove from oven and  set aside to cool
The Pasta:
  • preheat over to 400 degrees
  • on stove top boil water with a dash of salt
  • add noodles to boiling water and cook till al dente
  • in 13 inch baking pan add chicken, sauce, spinach, cayenne, chili powder, garlic, and salt
  • place in oven while noodles cook
  • Once noodles are al dente add to the sauce
  • Stir until well combined and return to oven to finish cooking noodles (about 15-20 minutes)
  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving
